Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy

Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy has shown exciting promise in the treatment of PTSD, Depression, OCD, and other mental health challenges. In situations where individuals have experienced little relief with traditional therapy, medicines such as MDMA, psilocybin (the psychoactive component in “Magic Mushrooms”), and Ketamine can help to re-wire the neural pathways that keep us stuck in maladaptive emotional patterns.

While specially-trained medical professionals can legally administer Ketamine or provide the medicine for at-home use outside of a clinical setting, MDMA and psilocybin have yet to be legalized in California outside of clinical trials. Due to the current legal status, we cannot provide you with the medicines ourselves. However, a trained Psychedelic-Assisted Therapist can offer support with preparing for a journey, or integrating afterwards. We can also discuss harm-reduction options for those seeking guidance during journeys with medicines obtained elsewhere.

 

For most people, thorough preparation and integration are essential for safely working with altered states of consciousness for healing purposes. Preparation is the process of establishing your readiness to work with the medicine. This is done in the days, weeks or even months prior to the medicine journey. It involves developing your intentions and motivations, assessing your physical readiness, establishing your support system, and other factors that can increase your physical and emotional safety before and after the medicine session. Integration is the reflective time after the session. It is the process of exploring the messages received from the medicine, and how to move forward with this new wisdom.  

 

As with any treatment, the healing occurs in conjunction with the changes that we make outside of sessions. The medicines alone do not heal you; your internal healing wisdom shows you what you need to see in order to make the changes necessary for healing.
